OUR ASSOCIATION
The Association of Certified Forensic Investigators of Canada (ACFI) is a Canadian non-profit organization whose objective is to promote and foster a national forum and governing body for the affiliation of professionals who offer, to the public, governments and employers, their expertise in the area of fraud prevention, detection and investigation, as well as liaise with other non-profit associations for the purpose of promulgating fraud awareness.
Certified Forensic Investigators (CFIs) are professional fraud investigators who have, by experience, education, and examination, satisfied the requirements of the ACFI and have been admitted as members of the Association. The services provided by a CFI relate to the prevention, detection and investigation of fraud and providing fraud related training to educational facilities, government and businesses. The Association shall, through a process of accreditation, review and continuing education, promote the Certified Forensic Investigator (CFI) designation in Canada amongst its members and to the public as a symbol of the highest standard of excellence in the field.
The Winnipeg Chapter of the ACFI was established in June 2004.
CHAPTER MISSION
The Winnipeg Chapter's mission is to provide a format to educate and increase awareness on fraud issues. Our goal is carried out by conducting monthly meetings for those interested in discussing fraud related topics and by the presentation of our annual fraud conference.
MEMBERS
Our Chapter consists of members and associate members of the ACFI. Membership to the Chapter is through the national office, for more information, please visit the national site at www.acfi.ca.
Our members have challenging careers with Private Investigation and Consulting firms, Insurance Companies, Crown Corporations, and with the following Regulatory Organizations:
